Since 1990, Staci Leavitt Davidson, registered dietitian and counselor, has been the founder and president of Staci Leavitt Mind & Body, Inc, an outpatient eating disorder/nutrition counseling center staffed by dietitians, psychotherapists and affiliated with medical doctors. Under her close supervision and guidance, the highly motivated team helps patients deal with all therapeutic and dietary needs. This includes, anxiety, self esteem , anorexia, bulimia, yo-yo dieting, compulsive overeating, nutritional counseling, medical diets, psychotherapy (all issues) and the most popular weight loss and healthy dieting. Trust, individual support and proper diet instruction are the keys to her unique program. Staci is a National support group leader for Eating Disorders (ANAD). She has been featured on many radio and television shows, including Good Day New York, Fox News, ABC, TLC and Discovery channel. Staci lectures to small and very large groups throughout the metropolitan area. She is PPPF certified for Parenting and Pregnancy, a certified Divorce Mediator and certified life coach She has certificates and training in many therapeutic skills including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), Staci is also a Preceptor for the Masters Students at Unversity of Delaware and University of Conneticut Coordinated Undergraduate and Masters Programs, on behalf of the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics. Staci is a black belt in karate and was ACE certified. Staci has three beautiful children of her own and while they grew up she offered child care for her staff on site, therefore they could be there for their children as well as dedicated to our patients.
Jamie Rapfogel, LCSW, NPA Hypnotherapist

Jamie Rapfogel has been a licensed clinical social worker for over 25 years however she has been working exclusively with the team at Staci Leavitt Mind & Body since 2003. Jamie does individual, group and family counseling focusing on many life issues. Jamie is also a certified Hypnotherapist and incorporates meditation and mindfulness in her practice.
Kathleen Logsdon, MS, RD

Kathleen Logsdon has been a member of the team at Staci Leavitt Mind and Body since 2001. She is a NY state certified dietitian-nutritionist and an ACE certified personal trainer. She received a BS degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1986 and a Masters Degree from Virginia Tech in 1991. While helping our clients to adopt healthier eating habits, she also encourages them to make behavioral changes which will last a lifetime.
Jamie Kwiat, LCSW

Jamie Kwiat has been a licensed clinical social worker for ten years and has been practicing individual and group therapy focusing on a broad range of issues. Jamie has had extensive experience working with adolescents and their families. Jamie uses many different approaches and techniques to empower clients to overcome obstacles and reach their goals.
Stacey Kaufman, Psy.D.

Stacey has been a psychologist since 1998. She received a degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and earned her doctorate from Ferkauf Graduate School. She has experience treating people of all ages including children, adolescents, and adults and she is trained to work with a variety of different issues. Stacey provides a non-judgmental atmosphere where her clients feel understood and validated, and she believes that there is a huge connection between the mind and body.
Brandi Leavitt, RD

Brandi Leavitt completed the Coordinated Dietetics Program at the University of Connecticut. She received training at Rockville in-patient Eating Disorder Center and at Walden Behavioral Care Eating Disorder Center. Since 2015, she has been part time assisting at Staci Leavitt Mind & Body. She has a true passion for working in this field and guiding individuals to live the healthiest version of themselves. She also has worked with the special needs population at the Sid Jacobson JCC & Mid Island Y JCC for the past seven years and is the Cooking/Nutrition Specialist at Camp Kehilla, a day camp for the specials needs population. She specializes with individuals who struggle with sensory issues and helps those become more comfortable with different food textures, smells and appearances through exposure. Brandi is also a certified life coach.
Michelle Lapierre, MS, RD

Michelle Lapierre is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist that graduated with her bachelors and masters degree from Long Island University. She promotes a wholesome approach to nutrition to help individuals find peace with food, build confidence, and live their healthiest life. Michelle has experience in both outpatient and inpatient dietetic settings where she supports clients in achieving long-lasting sustainable results. Michelle specializes in eating disorders, disordered eating, and weight management through the use of behavioral modification in conjunction with nutritional counseling.
Joseph Hammond, LMSW

Joseph is a Licensed Social Worker who earned his bachelor’s degree in education at SUNY Old Westbury then earned his Masters in Social Work, graduating from Long Island University. Joseph’s intention is to help clients attain a fulfilling and healthy emotional life by responding to life's stressors in a healthy way. This is accomplished over time by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship. Joseph utilizes aspects of a person-centered approach in addition to elements of CBT and DBT to support his clients work towards their goals. Joseph has experience working in outpatient settings as well as experience working at inpatient facilities supporting clients with co-occurring mental and behavioral health disorders.
Brandy Hendelman, MS, RD

Brandy has been a registered dietitian since 2001. She received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan and her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She worked at Beth Israel Medical Center where she specialized in pediatrics and maternal nutrition. Currently, Brandy is solely working at Staci Leavitt Mind and Body, she is pursuing her true passion–-helping patients improve their relationship with food and develop realistic dietary changes that lead to lasting success. As a busy mom, Brandy has become very skilled at making quick and healthy meals and enjoys sharing recipes and helping picky eaters.
Lauri Margolis

Lauri Margolis is one of our Office Assistant. She handles the administrative work in the office and is available to discuss any information you may want to know about the services our team provides. She is a wonderful asset to our team.
Paul D

Paul D is one of our office assistants. He is happy to find the perfect appointment for you and to answer any questions you may have. He is here to assist anyone who is interested in becoming a new patient. Paul is a liaison between you and our professional staff.

Jenny McCaughey has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2007 specializing in adolescents and families. She works exclusively in private practice for The SLMB Team and has worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings focusing on behavioral and psychiatric symptoms, complex trauma, and providing guidance and support to overcome challenging life obstacles.
